Conduit RoadThe Conduit Road Fire Board, chartered by act of the Maryland State Legislature in 1933, is responsible for the oversight and governance of the Glen Echo Fire Department. It is composed of representatives of the communities, or homeowner’s associations, in the "First Due" response area of the Department. Operational authority is vested in the Fire Chief by the Board.
This unique governance structure allows for very effective communications between the Department and the community it serves.
