Mass-Casualty Incident Training Helps DC-Area Fire-Rescue/EMS Departments
The Glen Echo Fire Department hosted a large scale mass casualty incident (MCI) training to help fire-rescue/EMS departments in the DC area train and prepare for such an incident. The drill took place at the Holton Arms School. Participants were assigned either a patient or bystander role. These scenarios were highly realistic as fake patients were moulaged and appeared to be bloody, and the scenarios were very intense.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered as patients and helped make our drill realistic. Thank you as well to Holton-Arms School for hosting us as we used your facilities for the drill. Also thank you to all the fire and rescue personnel who participated in the drill and helped contribute to our education.
