Abraham Correa-Medina – EMS Provider I
At Glen Echo Fire Department, we have several members who not only volunteer as first responders but who serve in government during their day jobs as well. When EMT Abraham Correa-Medina isn’t driving an ambulance, he is a fellow at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), part of the National Institutes of Health. Here’s what he had to say about his dual roles serving the public:
“For me, public service is about creating educational opportunities, protecting the vulnerable and improving everyone’s quality of life. I choose to protect my community as a first responder and improve people’s quality of life through biomedical research. I hope these experiences will allow me to create a healthier community that fosters opportunities for all.”
